Jesus and the Forgotten City Taking the time to do a comprehensive read of this text is well worth the student’s elucidation. The city of Sepphoris is not on the road map of ancient Israel the time to its setting is the time of Christ not old Israel. If you were mapping Israel in the time of Christ it would be prominently there on the hill top. You could even buy a coin of Sepphoris on Ebay. The book sets Jesus in a time of much higher population than the Bible hints, but it is certainly background story and society to the life of Christ. The history also recorded by Josephus in his massive work on "Jewish Antiquities", the noted historian of the Hebrew Roman world. It is worth the read. Rev. Lou E. Troester
