Optical and mechanical excellence
These binoculars have high definition and strong contrast. The brightness is very good, although it is a little limited by the exit pupil of only 3.5 mm. The colors are very natural, but pleasant and slightly vibrant. The field of view is very wide, but it is not flat. Anyway, it is a well-corrected field, with the edge still usable. Chromatic aberrations are well controlled, although not perfect. Anyway, in this respect it is much better than some ED binoculars that have passed through my hands.Also, the protection from the sun rays in front is very very good. I have checked this at very small angles. I made comparisons with other Nikon products. 1. I also have the EII version 8x30. 10x35 has, according to my observations, slightly superior definition and contrast. Only that 8x30 is a ... I'm surprised, because everyone only talks about the 8x30 version. But for me, the 10x35 is the favorite. 2. I also made a comparison with the Nikon Monarch M7 10x42, in terms of definition and contrast. Well, although this is brighter due to the larger exit pupil, and has a flatter field, the EII 10x35 is superior in terms of definition and contrast, having slightly more vibrant colors.Ok,the difference is not huge,but there is. 3.I also made a comparison with Prostaff P7 10x42. I have to say, P7 is a very nice instrument. In fact, between P7 and Monarch M7 I prefer P7. P7 is a little brighter than EII because of the exit pupil.But in terms of contrast and definition, EII 10x35 is slightly better than P7. EII also has chromatic aberrations noticeably lower than P7. Nikon EII 10x35 has some little disadvantages:is not waterproof,does not have twistable eyecups.The depth of field is smaller than that of the EII 8x30 "little brother", so you have to keep your finger on the focus wheel all the time.That's it, you can't have everything... The binoculars also have extraordinary ergonomics, they fit perfectly in the hand. It also has a very good 3D effect, practically better pronounced than the 8x30 version.The mechanics are solid and precise,typically Japanese. In conclusion, an extraordinary achievement by Nikon.Truly amazing instrument!...
