    Absolute Necessity!

    I just replaced both front struts on my 2008 Ford Edge because one of the struts I had installed by a mechanic broke after a short time. Why? Because the mechanic forgot to install this item....which is commonly known as a 'bump stop'. I did the job myself this time around and used all KYB products...struts, top mounts and this strut boot. It's comprised of a 3" long neoprene cushion that fits perfectly into a small ridge on the top of the dust boot....and this slips over (quite snugly) the chrome shaft of the strut before you install the coil spring on the strut. What does this part do?...it stops the strut from bottoming out when you hit a deep pothole by use of this cushion. And the plastic boot keep the road dirt and winter salts off the chrome shaft and stops it from pitting that ...

    Strut boot and damper kit

    Nice quality kit but it has no instructions and did not really fit my new Moog upper mounting plate. Due to no diagram, I never did figure out how the partd were supposed to be installed... and I am an ASE Master Tech. Please send a diagram!

    Mercedes 1989 300E Strut Bumber and Bellows Substitution SB-102

    KYB says to use SB-119 for my application. I did not think it was the best choice since the bellows would have to be jacklegged. I elected to use the SB-102, the KYB catalog recommendation for my strut number. I modified the strut mount with the addition of two washers each to make a flush surface for the bumper. The JB Weld holding the washers cured overnight with a medicine bottle of ball bearings on them. I am extremely pleased how it turned out. It's a cleaner looking installation and I believe there will be less wear and tear on the bumper with the flat surface it will press against..

    Quality Product, Fits Surprisingly Well

    It is a well made replacement for my car, Porsche 944 Turbo. It fit the original bump stop very well, the bump stop that comes with is fine too though...the price to quality ration is excellent, for it is much cheaper the originals...
