Solid but Low

Very sturdy and easy to assemble.
The Stagg MXS-A1 Keyboard stand is easy to assemble, and sturdy. Even though our keyboard is not fixed, it is in no danger of sliding or falling off. I didn't give it 5 stars for two minor reasons: one is that the bolts which fix the width have plastic handles so that they can be adjusted easily, which is good for adjusting, but bad for catching your leg when playing the keyboard. The other is, as I have mentioned, that I was not able to fix my keyboard to the stand, To be fair, that's my fault since I didn't measure the keyboard properly to start with. DJ stand on a budget.
I purchased this to use as a DJ stand and an very pleased with it. there is plenty of room for my DJ controller, laptop and a monitor if I need one and being both height and width adjustable makes it ideal for what I need. It is quite rigid when it is up but as all of my equipment is electronic any slight movement doesn't matter, I cut a piece of board for the top so I have a nice flat surface to work on and a piece of scrim for the front and sided to hide the wiring and its as good as an expensive named brand. ps you could even use it as a keyboard stand if you wanted.I purchased this to use as a DJ stand and an very pleased with it. there is plenty of room for my DJ controller, laptop and a monitor if I need one and being both height and width adjustable makes it ideal for what I need. Adjustable keyboard stand. Perfect for my Tyros 5.
Excellent product. Height and width adjustable. Great for making sure the keyboard height is just right. Although my Tyros 5 is quite wide, it sits very nicely on on the stand without any need to screw it down.

Great Product For Digital Pianos
This 'trestle' type of stand is the closest thing I could find to the official stands available for some digital pianos, but with the added benefit of being height adjustable (the official stand for my Yamaha NP 12 isn't adjustable and is just too tall for me to use comfortably even with an adjustable stool, so I spent quite a while looking at different options before going for this one.) I was a little concerned about how it would look in my living room as in some pictures the top was clearly visible under the keyboard and looked a bit industrial, but I have the piano positioned so it overhangs the front very slightly to avoid this and it actually looks very neat, and allows my piano stool to be stored under it when not in use. At around 30cm deep it's a better fit than Z Frames which ... At around 30cm deep it's a better fit than Z Frames which all seem designed for keyboards which tend to be much deeper (the arms supporting the keyboard seemed to be 50cm deep as standard on Z frames - enough to set two digital pianos one in front of the other!), and with the completely open area underneath it avoids the legroom issues found with X Frames. Assembly simply consists of unfolding the legs until they lock into position, then adjusting the height and width to suit. The legs, which have rubber feet, are individually height adjustable which is great if the floor isn't totally even. The one small issue I found with this stand is that the screw bolts for the width adjustment point downwards which looks a little untidy and, depending on how wide you have the stand, they may end up in a position where they could catch your knee - I got around this by raising the height just 1cm or so to provide enough clearance, but it would be better if they pointed inwards. The annoying thing is that when fully tightened there's still a good bit of the threaded part visible, so shorter bolts would have done the job and given more clearance. I saw several reviews / answers to questions saying there was no padding on this stand, but in fact there is. The top rails aren't padded, but your keyboard/piano doesn't sit on them, it touches the stand only at each end on the flat pieces with the holes and slots in them, and these have a very thin layer of high density foam on them which prevents scratches and also provides grip. The holes and slots are for the feet of your piano to slip into for added security - the feet of the NP12 do fit into them, but I've actually aligned the slots with the threaded sockets on the base of the piano and used threaded bolts of the same type often found with securing straps on X Frame stands (the straps weren't needed as the head of the bolt won't fit through the holes, so just screwing the bolt into the piano secures it while allowing you to slide it back or forward an inch or two if required - see pic.) This was probably overkill as the stand is very stable and the foam has a non-slip effect, but since I have a large and sometimes manic cat I decided to be safe rather than sorry! One thing to note if you have limited space, the base of the stand is significantly wider than the top (the measurements given in the listing are for the top). The legs are angled outwards so the width added will increase if you have the stand set above the minimum height as this obviously involves lengthening the legs. To be safe and allow some minimal height adjustment I would allow at least an extra 35-40cm of space for the legs on top of the width you want the top of the stand set to. Overall, highly recommended for any digial piano owners, and I'm sure would work fine for most keyboards too, although they would probably overhang the stand at front and/or back.
