Aluminum Beats Steel
The aluminum breech kit fits my 2240 perfectly, making it a sturdy, quality upgrade. Unlike the steel breech kits, sold in greater number, the aluminum breech allows the owner to maintain the adjustable factory rear sight. Steel breech kits require purchase of a pricey, after market rear sight which often doesn't fit securely in its steel dovetail, requiring filing or extra adjustment. The aluminum kit is attractive, functional and comparably priced to the familiar steel unit, which is also heavier, changing handling ergonomics. I own one of each. put it on my 1322, need one for my crosman 362 next.
This is a nice breech, I was worried because it's aluminum, but now after handling it for awhile it's sturdy, and reliable. Just like the seller said if your not beating it up or giving it to children your good to go with a high quality long lasting upgrade.
