It did replace an obsolete part. However, the description says it works without solder. I understood this to mean that it would have a connector, but it doesn't. It has to be spliced to wire with the connector. This really needs to be soldered because the wires on the light are too small to for the crimp connectors with my hand strength. I ended up having to solder the tiny wires back on the light, then soldering to the cord with the connector. That said, it worked, even with ugly solder.
