I looked at other brands of lathe chucks. I needed a new chuck for my Logan 1875 lathe. It’s relatively easy to spend upwards of $1000 for a quality chuck. I decided to go with Shars due to the cost to value ratio. It was easy to machine the back plate for concentricity and the new chuck is working perfectly!
