It is new as stated and not a rebuilt as is evident by the different appearance from an original. It wouldn’t mount on my 1951 without some additional mounting holes being drilled. It wouldn’t drop into the channel that held the original. The base was a little too wide and the set back was different. Easily modified and works great. Very happy finding a workable solution at this price.
