Controller is a ILI9487 NOT ILI9488 or ILI9327
There is no possible control of the back light which is way too bright and the TFT shows image "washed up". I tried all possible driver voltages and frequencies and the display unit has no clean and clear image. PLEASE NOTE that the display in the picture is very good (the reason I bought more here) but the one that I received is the same size but a different display/controller pair. Quality? Who knows.
Despite the fragility of the LCD, it arrived in a plastic bag and I hope it has not been damaged from China to the USA. One pin came bent. The bag arrived without software and without a document explaining how to connect it. The web page that is printed on the LCD is in Chinese, and although google helps with the translation, there is no way to download any document or datasheet from it. I have a long, long way to go to find out if the screen turns on, let alone use it. Bad company.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Interface 8bit
As seen in the picture of the disassembled display which I bought here. Here signals CS,RS,WR,RD and 8 bits of data and RESET. The board from this display adjusts the display to 9 bits (IM1 - 0) and so the display does not show all the colors. 9bit on this board is not taped. If your board like on the picture such as this - the colors is incorrectly reflected. There are need add the pin DB09 for data. not reccomend if you dont know how to create new board with 9 pins or invert IM1 pin.

Does not work in SPI operation
I am writing 250kHz SPI commands to this board and it is not responding. There seems to be circuitry missing (no U1, R1, C3, U4, C4, R6, D2, L2 or the ribbon connector). I don't know if this will affect the function of the board but the tft lcd I received IS NOT the same tft lcd in the photo. See attached photo. This is not worth the money or the time for me to send it back!

Good display for Arduino Uno
Display I received contains ST7796 controller, It is command compatible with ILI9488 but has different identifier. You may need to manually configure your software to use ILI9488 commands. Difficult. Find a better supported screen.
This was probably the most complicated lcd to install due to lack of working drivers by the manufacturer. I had to use MCUFRIEND_KBV 2.9.4 with a tiny modification to correct resolution.
