OK and lightweight design and may only improve VHF/UHF reception, but might not help much on 800 Mhz.
Not a bad antenna, but not quite exactly what I was looking for as far as to improve my reception. I was looking for an antenna to improve 800 Mhz range and it did sometimes, but I'd have to keep moving around my radio to improve my reception. VHF/UHF was fair to good. But moving the antenna to different positions didn't help all that much as far as improvement on all bands. Not a bad antenna, but just not exactly the one I was looking for.

Great replacement antenna
Sturdy replacement antenna, preferable to the factory issued "rubber duck" antenna that came with my scanner. Length can be adjusted for various frequency bands.

Nice replacement antennas
These antennas are high quality, they have a black outer barrel and the internal segments are chromed. The BNC connector allows it to swivel and the barrel is hinged and can be adjusted.
