Better than Panasonic
Been using electric shavers a long time mainly Braun last model was the series 5 but I decided to try the arc 5 and it was junk took forever to cut through your beard. So after that failure I decided to try the series 8 and it hugs your face better and the battery last a lot longer than expected. Lets face it no razor is going to give you the best shave ever depending on whether you have a tough beard like mine or something light, but the series 8 does much better than I expected and gives a close shave. Only thing I found that I didn't like was that the replacement cartridge do not appear to be available as much as the other models. Hopefully Braun will notice this and make sure we can use this product for a while with a decent shave daily.

Good shaver! Gives a close shave. I like that it can be used wet or dry. My husband received it for Christmas and he loves it. It saves him so much time. He really likes the fact that it came with the cleaning stand and solution.

8 is slightly more comfortable than 7!
I have used 2 series 7's previously. The foils on the series 7's only lasted approximately 12 months. Only been using series 8 about 1 month and seems to be slightly more comfortable. School is still out on this shaver.

Love it , only drawback is not finding cutter replacements, when will these be available Braun ? it is a nice quiet razor compared to the rest of the Braun's. Performance is gentlest of shaves and close.

Great shaver, not as expensive as the Series 9.
This shaver is not as popular (fewer made?) than the 7 and 9 series. I've owned all 3, and prefer the Series 8. The Series 9 went through foils WAY too soon, and was much louder. This is basically a Series 7 with a lot of small improvements for the same price.
