First instincts are proven incorrect
This May/December romantic comedy ( Michelle Pfeiffer was still in her 30's in 2007 ) tackles parenting, an on again/off again romance with younger man. Even though the film is 16 years old--it is a very contemporary theme today--Salma Hayek/ Channing Tatum in February's "Magic Mike's Last Dance" & also the Bonnie Garmus best-seller "Lessons in Chemistry" : a strong can-do woman in the 1960's rejecting a "Stepford Wives" role model. The movie soundtrack-- is also a revelation: Gilbert O'Sullivan "Alone Again Naturally"; White Town "Your Woman"; The Beach Boys "Wouldn't It Be Nice". Actor Paul Rudd inhabits his role here, shows a gift for comedy and almost steals the show. The price of this dvd -was a whopping $ 12.00. So good it ought to be illegal !!
