    Unique, surreal TV Classic in the Classy Format It Deserves

    "Oh my God! The turkeys are hitting the ground like sacks of wet cement!" Great comedy and great DVD set as well. Biggest plus - you can watch all episodes on each disk without having to mess with the menu page every time. Only minus is no captioning.

    Good to have the complete series, but...

    I love WKRP in Cincinnati, and was very happy to find this set at a reasonable price. However, the last disc of season 1 skipped and stuck in all 6 of my working DVD drives. I contacted Shout Factory to obtain a replacement disc. They refused by providing significant evidence that my copy was a bootleg. Sure enough: it is region 0, there is no copy protection and the discs are all single layer (Legit discs are region 1, copy protected dual layer discs). I had an old copy of the Fox season 1 set, so I created a compilation disc with the faulty episode replaced. I'm still watching the remainder of the set and I hope that no other technical problems turn up. I have asked my local library to do an interlibrary loan for a legit copy of the Shout Factory set, just in case. Not the experience I ...

    Wonderful box set of a great show. So happy most of the original music was included. Good packaging. Picture & sound is clear with no issues. Bonus disc with interviews was interesting.

    Wonderful Nostalgic DVD

    I have always liked this series and was vary happy to be able to buy it. I am a music lover & this is the only series on music & radio stations and back then when Disco was taking over but us Rockers refused to give up or give in. Johnny Fever was our Hero. The music & the characters were tops & got along great. I am also a saleman & Herb made me look good but also reminded me of bad habits we can get into. But I never dressed like him! Less is a riot and Jennifer was all of us viewer's sweetheart. Great to have the whole collection and relive the memories. The DVD is not Blue Ray which is the only negative but the extra detail is not needed for me to laugh my head off. Wonderful Nostalgic product.

    Lotsa WKRP (good) Video compression (not so good)

    The image quality on this could be a lot better. They stuff 7 or 8 episodes onto each DVD so they have to compress them quite a lot. It reminds me of watching things on Youtube. Luckily this show doesn't really need beautiful image quality. The comedy and characters come through enough that I don't mind so much except when I'm playing "Find the injury" on Les Nessman. Sometimes the band aids are hard to spot. No problems with the sound! I should mention that I'm watching this on a 60" screen. It would look just fine on like a 20" or 30" I imagine. Or better yet a CRT for maximum nostalgic effect :)
