    It works well and is of great quality.

    I did take it to a local Apple store in my city to verify if really was an OEM. They scanned the code, because it had a slightly different packaging and serial number, they couldn’t provide more information. However they said it looks genuine and probably is one; the adapter and the cable. They also said it should just work fine after we connected it to an iPad. I compared it with the one that came with the iPad, it has slightly different information on it but build quality wise and using it for last 3 says: I can’t see any difference. I recommend this product.

    Overheating and leaving only partial charges

    I bought this second charger to have the ability to charge my ipad at work and unfortunately it overheats and stops charging. Yes, it has the same rating as the old charger that I have. With this new charger the ipad from a drained battery will charge up to around 20% and then it will stop. No matter how long you leave it connected to the charger the ipad charge will not exceed this 20% and the charger itself will become very hot. The only way to achieve a full charge is to do it in steps (ae disconnect the charger let it cool down and reconnect it for an additional 15% of charge and repeat this process until full) and this is not the way charging is suppose to happen. The old charger does the charging in one go, still. Hence the new one leaves a lot to desire, I would question the ...

    Good Product

    So far, appears to be very iPad Air compatible. Many sellers advertise “Apple Compatible” but then either charger or cable (or both) just plain do not charge.

    iPad Charger - 12 Watt

    This charger works much better than a previous one we have used. With the previous charger, if the iPad was low on battery power, you couldn't use the iPad and charge it at the same time, because the charger couldn't keep up. The 12 watts of power and the heavier gauge of wire used in this charger make that possible now. The 10' cable is also a plus. It's a great item!
