Better than Sentry in some ways, but drops signal occasionally like the Sentry (foreflight programming issue)...Ughhh.
So I had a Sentry that would occasionally drop the signal (or so I thought). Got another new Sentry to replace my defective one and same issues, so decided to get a Stratus. Turns out it also is dropping. Upon further research it is a programming error and it's the wifi that is dropping. Now have tried 2 Sentrys and a Stratus over 5 different iPad and all have dropped the wifi when flying. Reseting the Stratus/Sentry seems to fix the issue but can take a while to then reboot. Between the Stratus and the Sentry it's a toss up... The Stratus does get slightly better reception, seems to communicate slightly faster with the iPad, and works with programs other than foreflight. The Sentry is cheaper, has better battery life, is lighter and smaller, comes with a mount and has a CO detector.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
