Interesting Read About a Ground-Breaking Playwright
Probably best read in tandem with the Orton biography "Prick Up Your Ears" by John Lahr (1978) these diaries provide a vivid glimpse into the last months of Orton's life: his dizzying rise to success in the London theatrical scene, his troubled relationship with his longtime partner Kenneth Halliwell, the decadent gay scene in Tangiers, and something of a view into Orton's working methods.
