Marumi's DHG (Digital High Grade) filter ND-100000 is a neutral density filter specifically made to take photos of the sun. The circular camera filter is 58mm in diameter and designed to fit digital cameras. The Marumi filter reduces the value of the light to 1/100,000, so it works best during a solar eclipse. Worked well for the 2017 eclipse
Just to set the stage, I am an amateur photographer, especially when it comes to shooting the sun. I was coming late to the party in my search to get an ND5 filter, so didn't have any other choices at the time. Given that, and the lack of practice time with a new camera, I was able to take several photos of the sun during the partial eclipse phases and I was impressed with the quality and clarity.
