AVOID AT ALL COST - DANGER OF BROKEN GLASS
I successfully installed this shower door bottom hook guide on my shower door and then suffered a shattered glass door as a result of using this product. Please learn from my experience: 1) The hooks are larger than factory OEM, so the holes will not line up with the slots (they sit too high). 2) The screws supplied are LARGER than factory OEM, so the holes on the door frame are too small. 3) This shower door bottom door hook guide requires a spacer to fit tight against the door (the instructions on the back of the package call for it, NOT INCLUDED WITH THE PACKAGE), since the hooks are larger it sits further away from the door whereas original did not require a spacer. (You can reuse the old bottom hook guide but it might not work due to the thickness) AVOID PURCHASING OR USING, ATTEMPTING TO INSTALL WILL RESULT IN A SHATTERED GLASS DOOR. If your shower door does not crack during installation it could shatter from use, TEMPERED GLASS IS MORE PRONE TO CRACKING IF STRESSED AT THE CORNERS OR EDGES, WHICH IS WHAT THIS SHOWER DOOR BOTTOM HOOK GUIDE WILL DO. I wish eBay would let me post pictures in this review so you could see the bathroom floor and tub full of bloodied glass, my arm & feet full of small cuts and the six-plus hours cleaning the small glass shards off my bathroom. If you do plan to install it please do the following: 1) Drill holes on the plastic shower hook door to match existing holes on the door frame (not while against the door, use a marker to pin point where the holes should go then drill on a workbench), it will be the only way to avoid damaging the tempered glass 2) Reuse existing smaller screws to prevent hitting the glass door (the screws provided in the packaging are too large). 3) Keep pizza or biscuit dough ready to pick up small glass shards when your tempered glass door breaks from the stress. 4) A good flashlight at floor level will help you find small glass shards, they go everywhere and you do not want to step on them. 5) Please be aware that glass sticks to the sole of sandals and flip-flops, do not track glass shards to the rest of your home. 5) Your door will still be hanging from the top even when shattered, so you will have a frame full of broken glass to deal with. It is best to cover the drain with a wash cloth to keep glass from clogging the pipes, knock as much glass off the frame as you can into the tub and to lift the top rail to remove the entire door. This task will be somewhat easier since the sliding doors will now be 1/2 as heavy due to all the glass on the shower floor. If I have not talked you off purchasing it please be careful. A shower curtain and rod is cheaper than this bottom hook guide!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
