Mac Mini - reloading the OS is Trouble...
Great computer, but Apple made it extremely difficult to reload the OS like I needed to do. Buy the BLACK OSX DVD's, the mini-specific grey ones are too hard to find, and downloading the OS disk images have to be written a very specific way or they don't boot. It was Trouble! but I finally succeeded. I have it dual booting to a special version of OS 9.2.2 for my project, and running OSX 10.4 when I want it to do other things.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Aside from some shipping delays, and a lack of an airport card, it's a great value. It was clean, the original box was in great shape, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, it had it's factory restore disks, something you so seldom see in an older computer. When i opened the box, i first saw it was well packaged. Then i saw that the Mac Mini and the power supply were both in good shape. And the unit works perfectly well. I have had no problems with the unit. Everything checks out, the modem, ethernet, optical drive, hard drive, and everything else. Thank you for a perfectly working Mac Mini G4.
