    Does the job for most applications.

    This is a basic instrument and, being analog, its readings are subject to interpretation. The primary value is determining which area is wetter or drier than another and/or how much wetter or drier an area becomes over time. In terms of absolute values (percentage of moisture in a concrete slab) it is probably OK. If you need accurate values you would probably be better off getting a digital version.
