If he donated them why did he kept the listing up and allow it to reach the end? I believe he didn't like the price they sold for (no reserve either) and decided to tell me they were donated instead of shipping them out for the price i won the auction at. Seller also said they were his father in laws but also commented on another review saying he was 87.
