Whirlpool holds you hostage with proprietary connector
Works fine just like any ice maker. Whirlpool has chosen to put it's own connector to make it difficult to use after market ice makers in their refers. Be aware if you buy a newer Whirlpool Refer you will not be able to use standard ice maker electrical connectors as they've hidden their 4 wire connections in a 8 prong plug and receptacle. It would be a pain to rewire so you pay more for ice maker that has their OE connector on it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Easy install, Sears SHOULD sell this with Whirlpool fridges, but alas, I had to turn to eBay.
Install was really fast. These fridges are set up for adding this easily. My particular one was missing a screw to hold it in, but I was able to reuse the screw that covers the inlet tube in the back of the fridge for this purpose. Took maybe 5 minutes to install. Very simple install excepting the wires. Adjusted to make the right sized cubes and it steady makes ice.

Product was good but did not fit correctly and should have according to available info
Product was good but did not fit correctly had to jerry-rig as bottom screw hole was off by inch and a half even though it was supposed to be correct for my model refrigerator. Second it was packed in Styrofoam without a plastic covering making it so the foam was embedded everywhere in the ice masker.
