On his journey, Luke is aided by the roguish, sarcastic mercenary Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and his towering furry sidekick Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) as they run into a host of perilous situations while trying to rescue the princess--and the entire galaxy. Considered the most morally and emotionally complex of the original Star Wars trilogy, THE EMPIRE STRIKE BACK continues creator George Lucas's epic saga where STAR WARS left off. The Rebel Forces--which include young adventurer Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), rogue pilot Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and the beautiful but seemingly humorless Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher)--have been successful in destroying the Evil Empire's Death Star. However, the Empire's top commander, the terrifying Lord Darth Vader (played by David Prowse, voiced by James Earl Jones), is scanning the galaxy for the Rebels' secret location.     Star Wars revisited

    DVD's play well and include some of the scenes added in later versions. All three are in soft slip jackets withing a generic blueray case (relatively protected). Characters and plot are familiar. Special effects great for the time have been supassed by current technology, but are still well fit into the films. Price was good for this purchase. These are a nice upgrade from my VHS tapes.

    One damaged dvd.

    The first dvd, A New Hope does not play correctly. It is used but I still expected it to function correctly. We tried cleaning it but apparently there are some scuff marks that force us to skip forward and back in order to try and watch the entire movie. Not happy!

    I love the original 3 episodes of Star Wars,,,but, I only had them on VHS. It was hard to find them on DVD. Watched all 3 episodes the day after I received them.
