    A great medium level Z Scale steamer

    The Marklin 88980 Br 55 is a great medium duty z scale steamer with great pulling power. Eight drive wheels and a heavy cast metal shell provide the right amount of weight to move this locomotive in a smooth and reliable way. Slow speeds seem effortless even with the 3 pole motor. This motor does have a bit of noise as it runs, but I expect this to decrease as it is broken in more. A 5 pole is available separately but hardly seems necessary. Used as a real life freight mover, this loco is accurately represented in this Marklin example. The Br 55 has been remodeled recently to add more details and the 5 pole motor. This can only improve it. This model would make a great addition to your collection.
