I'm not a fan of the nano series of ipods as I prefer the classic series, but the 3rd gen is the best generation of the nano series. It looks and feels like a miniturized ipod 6th generation classic, it has the same features found in the 6th gen classic, it comes in 4GB and 8GB capacities, and the 8GB model comes in several different colors. I love how it's like a 6th gen classic, but I found the ipod to be too small to hold, and I'm more used to the larger sized ipod classics and ipod touch. If you're looking for a music player thats small enough and can do as much as an ipod classic I highly recommend it.

The Ipod came in great physical condition, it also works normally. However a few days after buying it I noticed a black pixeled blotch on the screen. It didn't seem like a big deal, but since then the blotch had been growing every day, and I'm not sure how bad it will get.

I've had this ipod nano 3rd generation for the past 4 years - I really love it. I received it as a gift when it first launched and while it's older now, we still actively use it in my household. As I'm on a newer model for my personal use, I've used this device to store all of my toddler's children music on and we keep it in the main areas of the house with a speaker dock so that we can have his music accessible during the day while he's playing around the house. I love the size and shape of this device. I also like that it's pretty easy and fast to navigate the music menus using the turn dial to flip through and sort by artist, album, or music genre. The battery life seems to be pretty good still after all these years of use, and I personally love the light blue color. All over, a great little device and very useful for managing basic needs of playing music while on the go.Read full review
I bought this used in fair condition for my brother- he's graduating and going to the Coast Guard Academy. After fiddling with the device, I have found that it works every bit as flawlessly as my 6th generation 160 GB iPod classic- same menus and functions. In my opinion, the only way this Nano could get better is if the headphones jack and on/hold switch were located at the top of the device. And of course, if it had more data, I would love to have owned this iPod. So overall, this is a perfect device if you're not looking for something too terribly different than an iPod classic, especially if you don't own that much music. The device itself is a cute little size, comes in many colors, and plays video as well, a feature that my first iPod nano did not have. I recommend this device as a starter mp3 player for anyone without particular layout requirements of the device and/or a large musical collection. Even so, 8 GB of space is a sizeable amount.Read full review
Since the iPod nano's inception, the only thing it ever really lacked was video—something that didn't mesh with the iTunes Store's commitment to TV shows and film downloads. Sporting a bright, two-inch widescreen that shows video in the highest pixel-per-inch density of any iPod, the nano is an entirely new beast. The flash player, available in 4GB and 8GB capacities, is wider than previous models which might seem to go against the whole concept of the product. Held next to a second generation nano, however, the widened dimensions don't seem to matter. In fact, a beautiful screen and just-as-thin body make the device seem like a large evolutionary step. The new user interface also combines the nicer touches of the iPhone's U.I. (such as Cover Flow) with new elements (a split screen which shows album covers for highlighted songs and a new Now Playing screen). Throw in a few games with quality graphics, and you've got yourself a real winner. In its price range, nothing beats the nano.Read full review
I wish Apple still styled their iPod Nano like this 3rd generation one. I like the fact that you don't have to turn it sideways to view video content. It's small, yet we have 4 movies, some photos and a BUNCH of music on it and the 8 Gig still has a little spare room. Our 4 Gig version couldn't hold this much. My daughter uses it for music and movies while traveling. I suggest a case for it that covers the screen (not a "shell" or "skin") and allows for wearing on a belt or around the neck. Our first one was stolen in a store because she set it down for a second and it was swiped before she could pick it back up again!
I gotta tell you, my family is an Apple family. We have all kinds of IPods between our family members, but, this 3rd gen nano is my favorite! Not too big, not too small with a nice size screen and good sound. I give two to my brother for his grandkids and they are perfect for loading bedtime stories on and the other for kids music in the living room. I think I'm going to buy another this year just because it's always nice to have an extra of your favorite. 🤗

i am not 100% on this... apple puts limitations on what you can and cannot do on thier Firmware... witch is FINE if you dont like to customize your menues and change background colors and such.. SO.. OVER ALL.. this is a great Ipod, i like new the sleek design, the click wheel could have been bigger... but i have big fingers... PROS- nice colors available. easy tu use interface, typical ipod CONS- 8GB of storage.. could be bigger. OVER ALL EXP. i recomend this to someone who LIKE APPLE products... but for the money... you should shop around to some other brands that offer more customization options in the GUI.
I know this ipod doesn't have all the apps and Bluetooth and all that stuff that newer ones do, but in my opinion it is hands down the loudest and best sounding ipod ever made. I don't care what anyone says differently. This is the reason I bought another one after 10 years of not having it. It's just the perfect size and all around good music player. Real audiophiles can and will know what I mean if they try this

My husband works by himself and at night; he really needed something to help him make the time go by faster. The iPod Nano 3rd gen is perfect. The unit is compact without being too small for a grown up to operate and fits easily in a front shirt pocket or specialty armband. The screen is larger than some of the newer gen models and bright so music videos, games and movies are easier on the eyes. With 8GB of memory, he can download tons of music, a season or two of the Simpsons, a podcast from Comedy Central, a few games for break time and a photo of the family just in case he starts to forget why he's working so hard. This really is the best model for the price.
