This little gem is not only practical and a great performer I feel it is necessary - no longer making stops along the road to extend the use of your mobile whip to another area in the band - and doing it with the touch of a button. Noted performance enhancement when using my mono-band ham-stick type antenna that usually gives me about 40-60kHz on 75 meters with <2:0 vswr. what I did notice is that even at the the bandwidth edge - when I activate the tuner there is > 1/2 s unit being reported. At band center - nothing noticed... but with my whip center resonant frequency at 3.930 (<1.5 vswr in bypass) when I moved toward the resonant band edge ~ 3.910 (vswr 2:1), inserting the tuner made a notable difference. And of course, I can extend the operational bandwidth with the puss of a button. Well worth the cost of the unit!!!!Read full review

I use this tuner with my Icom IC-718. I try to make this system basic and simple so I put basic tuner with basic radio. It does its job. Small light and easy to use. If you do not want metering, light and sound effect, but a tuner that 'tunes', this is not a bad choise at all.

It tunes quickly and accurately. Not a lot of use so far, as I just got my HAM license. Ask me again in 6 months. I'm sure it will be fine!

Awesome box as I had read. It will pretty much match anything. I am operating on an icom 7300 with a Radiowavz DX40 OCFD at about 25' and got out to Calgary in Alberta Canada from Plant City (20 miles east of Tampa) Florida with a 53 signal report on 40 meter. Very happy with this purchase.
