I discovered The Lost completely by accident and fell in love. Sadly, this is their only release but a great one at that. With a very down to earth and rough feel to their sound this album perfectly encapsulates the spirit of rock and roll. You can tell the band had fun making it because of this open song design and lack of polish. And that is what makes it so special. It doesn't try to be the best or be the most progressive but rather sits back on what makes rock and roll so great in the first place. My only gripe is that several of the songs sound so similar that I can listen to one thinking it is a completely different song for at least ten or twenty seconds before the specific guitar lick or lyric gives it away. If you are looking for the definitive sound of rock and roll you may not find it but if you love the roots, then this is exactly what you are looking for. As for the disc itself the sound quality seems good to me (I don't have that keen of an ear for things like that) despite it seeming to be quite a cheap production to begin with. Again, this was their first and only album so it would make sense that it wouldn't be pushing boundaries as far as quality goes but for what it's worth, it was well worth what I paid for it.Read full review
