Canon has three different extra wide lens 14mm F2.8 USM, 16-35mm F2.8 USM, and 16-35mm F4.0 IS USM lens. Best for value is 16-35mm F4.0 because it has IS feature and under $1000 for new. If you shoot for landscape, that good enough because you can take more pictures then concatenate together that much much better than wide angle lens. Canon 14mm F2.8 not good for indoor photos because the shape changed. there is not best solution and only. It really depended what do you need most.

The 14mm f/2.8 is a fine lens, if you looking for a very angle lens. Until recently a 2.8 lens at this focal length was impressive. With the new, faster lenses the 2.8 is a great value, sharp and plenty fast. And if you donβt enjoy the monstrous size of the faster lenses, this will be a terrific addition.

Great lens!!! I rented the 14mm once for a real estate shoot, but now its great to have one of my own. I love this focal length because it's super wide with non-existent distortion/fisheye. Great build quality. I'm shooting with a Canon 6D. The colors are lovely and sharpness

I can't compare this with the previous version of this lens as I have never used it, but this seems to be well contructed as is typical of an L lens and is very sharp. Granted I didn't pay full price for this lens, but obtained at a great price. I haven't done large amounts of photos in this format, but I am definitely looking forward to exploring this more now that I have this lens.

specialty lens. Good for ultra close-up to infinity or Milky way photography. Not usually good for ultra wide landscape because everything is also ultra tiny in the photo. Or use for portrait if your girlfriend is really ugly and youi want to make her uglier.
