A piece of great history of the old west

this movie is perfect.iIt is exciting and it also explains the situation in the west when the Red Indians control some of the teriritories in the west.It is exciting and explains the situation between the red indians and the white people.dramatically.I learned a lot of history of the west.

  • Harris' man called horse; an awesome movie!

A true story of the early 1800's in beautiful widescreen mint. One of Richard Harris' best western films and a great buy!

  • The Sioux are human beings

Several years ago, the first time that I watched this film, I was so impressed by the story and especially how the Sioux were referred to – respectfully – as human beings. The story also includes an introduction into the Sioux culture, and provides a complete opposite of the Hollywood common portrayal of Indians as savages. This is a real classic film!

  • Great Classic

I like the fact that even as old as the movie is and how American Indians were depicted in those days in theater and film, it does eventually show that the Indians were not as barbaric as people would like them to believe. I am American Indian, Cherokee, and many indian tribes were scattered with White Poeple who found them and chose to stay with them. Richard Harris played an excellent role as a man with knowledge and an open mind. He watched, he learned and he made them see that all white people were not bad, just as all American Indians were not bad.
