I started using it right away;easy hook-up, good picture quality. Better than the one it's replacing. I haven't used the universal remote yet.... I don't remember that the old vcr displayed the closed captioning! A pleased customer

Missing Parts
The product works fine but its being advertised as coming with cables and a remote. There were no cables nor a remote. I had to purchase cables for it to work. I have no remote that I paid for...and can't find one compatible to operate it. So its not a defect in the product...just incompetency of EBay with no checks in place to make sure customers actually get what they pay for. Then to make it worse...EBay doesn't have Customer Service availability to speak with a live person. HOW FUSTRATING !!! Awesome product-so reliable and durable. The remote gives out first.
Thought my Panasonic VCR was getting too old, so bought a Toshiba DVD/VCR combo with component connections for digital. The VCR part lasted a little over a year so I am back to my 10 year old Panasonic. Had to buy a new remote because many buttons did not work (too much use). Good old reliable is working great. The TV resolution is not as good as component but it is what we always used to have-I get to watch the program - that is the reason for recording. I use that VCR to record at least twice a week. Only problem is that I can get only the low end stations (basic-analog?). In the past I could record all but guess the higher channels only come in digital. This Panasonic PV-8460 is terrific. great product in excellent condition
very good product,easy to set up and operate. I use it every day. good purchase I ave always liked the Panasonic brand, although it is a slightly used piece of electronic equipment, it works as if it were new.

I am very satisfied with the seller and the VCR.
The VCR works fine. It had some scratches on top of the cabinet, but that doesn't have any thing to do with the working of the unit. I am happy that the unit works, after all it is a used VCR.
