    This Is A Great AM Rig

    The President Richard is an excellent AM rig. This radio's transmit audio has 90%+ modulation from the factory, therefore it does not require any sort of aftermarket modification. The transmit audio is loud, clear, crisp and clean. Like an expensive HF rig, the President Richard comes from the factory with a powered electret microphone, therefore there is no need to install an aftermarket power microphone. The factory powered electret microphone and cable is surprisingly good quality. This microphone can be replaced for less than $35, which is less expensive than most power microphones. Overall the transmit audio of this rig is very ICOM AM mode like smooth, yet loud enough to cut through the noise.
