Product Information

Spider-Man returns to Xbox in a game based on the July 2004 feature film starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. Using a revamped 3D engine that offers an interconnected world instead of standalone levels, players swing past skyscrapers high above New York City streets as they respond to residents in need. Meanwhile, Doctor Octopus plans on taking over the city with a combination of deadly force and criminal ingenuity. Those familiar with the original Spider-Man on Xbox will notice a number of changes to the interface, gameplay, and look designed to improve upon some of the earlier title's shortcomings. <br><br>Instead of swinging along a horizontal plane while outdoors, attaching the webbing to an invisible ceiling, players will be able to fire webs at all angles but only on visible surfaces. To help secure webbing to objects, an onscreen cursor will target potential surfaces and indicate where the next available surface is so players know where to swing to. The camera has also been addressed, with a perspective that remains close to Spider-Man's back instead of constantly swinging around with each new movement. Furthermore, the compass used in the first game has been replaced with a transparent map of the city, allowing players to freely plan out their route instead of blindly following arrows pointing them to their next destination. <br><br>Mission structure has changed to a more free-roaming style of play. In a nod toward Grand Theft Auto III, Spider-Man can undertake missions to further the storyline as well as respond to citizens on the street needing the Web-Head's help. Completing these optional tasks earns players Hero Points, which can increase their character's attributes and unlock other rewards. All missions take place in a 3D version of Manhattan roughly four square miles in size. Players can leap off buildings, twirl around flagpoles, run up walls, ensnare multiple foes at once, and explore every inch of the city without being restricted or redirected. While on the street, Spidey can dodge oncoming traffic, purchase items in stores, converse with the local populace, and hunt down enemies using Spider-Sense.

Won auction on "new" item. Item arrived in undamaged box. No pack material which is disappointment. The item had bent edges, dings and scratches and sticky goo on it. Very obvious that it went into box that way. At best this item was "used in fair" condition. Upon messaging seller they answered very shortly "was new when I sent it and you only paid a penny." WOW. price irrelevant if was willing to start auction at penny and I was only bidder. They lied about condition. Beware of this seller!!!

    Spider-Man 2 Xbox game

    The game is more like the movie in that you can free roam wherever you want. It has a long fun story line, and the details are amazing. The number of moves and things Spidey cant do is incredible. The buildings light up during the night, and yet the sun reflects off of the glass in the daytime. Once the game is completed, there are still lots of extra missions at all degrees of difficulty you can undertake. The only complaint it that they can seem impossible at times, but that just keeps it interesting. If you are into swinging around New York City, catching a helicopter and riding it to Ellis Island so you can swing around on the Statue of Liberty, or just showing the bad guys who is boss around town, this game is for you!

    Spider-Man 2 for Xbox, Forget the Movie, this is it!

    I have played this for about 2 weeks now, and it is unbelievably cool. it is much more ingrossing then the movie, and has a bunch more characters for you to web then the movie even shows. I think my favourite part of the game is when you swing around the city of New York, it actually feels like the movie, and is highly recomended for you to get, as long as its discounted and purchased here on eBay of course.

    Surprisingly a good game!

    Forget all the critics and their comments about this game. It's actually pretty fun, especially with the huge map that you can explore and the cool things that Spidey can do. The few downsides to this game is that crime fighting actually is redundant. Not a whole lot of character variety, but I guess if you're like me, you'll learn to live with it. Otherwise, a good game!

    Great Game for Spidey Lovers

    This game offers a great new gaming experience for those into playing Spiderman games. It is great for kids, especially those that like the movie, comics, etc.. The controls are rather easy to learn and the game is full of missions to do. Some kids may just enjoy web slinging around the city without actually doing any missions. One kid I babysit, age 7, likes to jump on cars and see where they end up taking him.
