    I have owned one of these for years and love it. I bought this one as a gift for a friend who had no idea such a thing existed, and he really likes it. For what its worth, I actually think I am more accurate in marking with this tool than with a regular punch and hammer, and I've never had to sharpen the point. If you need one right away, check your local hardware stores as their price is likely as good as this vendor's, which although the shipping was free, I waited a week to get it from USPS.

    A well designed tool

    The tool makes a good dimple in steel but you need to follow up with a regular center punch to make a deep enough dimple for a drill bit to stay centered.

    Not as good as Starrett

    Too weak. Won't make a decent punch mark in soft steel. Probably OK for aluminum, soft copper, etc. Got it cheap, but would NOT recommend this product if you need to center punch any ferrous metals. Seems well-built, but...NOT A STARRETT.

    Handy tool

    It’s very light but punches great.Its stronger that most punches when the adjuster is turned all the way in. Has no problem punching in aluminum and metal but stainless steel is a different story. Just to make it a little smoother.I spayed dry lube in it and it helped.
