This guitar is an excellent value. I we back and forth between it and the Fender Stratacoustic. I took the plunge on this after being less than impressed with other products. The sound is simply better than the price reflects. The guitar is comfortable to play and versatile with an amp. The on board tuner is fantastic as well and delivers a great sound. The Talman is also well balanced, which is difficult to find under $400.00 I would recommend this instrument for beginners through expert. It is definitely fun and again; with the on board tuner it allows for a variety of sound with different tuning. Cosmetically, the Talman has a very cool head stock, which can be expected from Ibanez. I would like to see the neck slightly smaller in the future but I won't dock it a point as it compliments the fret board well. The sound hole is slightly off center allowing for a very classic sound(including the shape within the body) when unplugged. The guitar sound controls are basic; volume, bass and treble. I've been blessed enough to play guitar for fourteen years now and have found a new favorite. I would encourage any beginner or expert to challenge my opinion by purchasing a Talman themselves. The sound speaks for itself.Read full review

Very good guitar for the money. Plays/feels like an electric guitar. Does not have a big resonate sound when unplugged but is fine to practice on. Tuner is a great feature. Stays in tune very well. Bass and treble EQ in the pickup is a nice feature as well. Doesn't have the best "acoustic" sound but for the money it's a great guitar. Very easy to play and appears to be very well built. Would recommend it for the beginner or someone looking or a "beater" guitar to travel with and practice on.

SATISFIED BUYER has had this only three days now and after one eaay to do truss rod tightening, I got the action nice and low, I AM VERY HAPPY WITH IT!!! I usually sit and play solo electric guitar at gigs using a Godin 3 voice XTSA. But it is too valuable to take to open mics and got damaged once at an open mic. I have toyed around bought and sold about 5 low cost acoustics I found around here, but they all caused thumb joint pain and hand fatique. But the access to the 12 through 18 fret was alnost impossible. I play up the neck often, and this Ibanez Talman finally allows me to focus on the "playing" and not on muscle fatique or joint pain. The neck, sound and features are really outstanding considering the price. The neck is "suberb" for a $200 budget guitar. Although it has a small and thin body, and the volume is "less" than a teaching or jumbo I LIKE IT. It is easy to position comfortably while sitting or standing. Even the 15th fret and above is easy to access, it plays wonderfully. Read full review

These are nice little acoustic/electric boxes that have an electric guitar feel, as they are small-bodied with a double cutaway. This, along with the fact that they are constructed of laminated wood on the top, back and sides, means they do NOT sound like a $2500 Taylor-but if you're looking for a very playable and versatile acoustic/electric for under 200 bucks, look no farther! Ibanez quality is evident throughout, and with proper care and handling, it should outlive you. The sound is a little thin unplugged, but hook 'er up to a good acoustic or tube amp, and she comes to life. It has an Ibanez undersaddle pickup with a 2-band active EQ-lows, highs, and volume control, ample for dialing in your tone. They fit nicely in most classical guitar cases, too. Available in gloss black (like mine) or blue burst. Try one out if you get a chance, you might like it.Read full review
I bought this Ibanez acoustic electric because of price, looks and my need for another flavor of guitar. I looked at the Fender stratacoustic and the GL ASAT tribute models online but had some concerns with putting my hands on the merchandise. I saw the Ibanez online from a reputatable (lots of positives on EBay) and had two Ibanez electrics (small hands, great neck and width at nut for me). So I took a chance with a factory second at half the price and was thrilled with the product and set up from this company. Five Stars and THANK YOU!
