I have used mobile radio antennas at base locations and they have performed equally, if not better, than this antenna. Even mounted to a large metal pole following the included instructions and guidelines, the SWR will not tune less than 1.7:1 in the 11 Meter band using brand new coax cable. This antenna does not radiate well or does not seem to be very efficient. Save your money unless you only want to talk 4-5 miles maximum.

Get the base mounted for a satellite dish and insert a section of metal conduit (approx. 4 ft.) into the existing bend tubing of the mount. I used the same lag bolts from the dish mount and mounted the base at the eve of the house and attached the Procomm Pat 12 to that. Also makes it easy to remove antenna if there is a need to. Now as far as the antenna, works great for a 1/2 wave and with it so light in weigh an ease to install. Did have to adjust the swr's but that is easy to do with the rings. if you want a good inexpensive antenna that works it is worth the money. Got this antenna thinking it would be ok, it looks like the antron 99 but only 12 foot, not the 18 foot of an antron should have just spent a little more and get the good antenna I've used in the past this thing is up on a 30 foot pole the SWR was a little high but the rings were adjustable so I was able to set it to 1:2 not bad then a few days go by not hearing a-lot on the radio figured people were busy I know I was so no biggie, then I got a mobile unit and went for a ride around town all within 3 miles or so and i made it about 1 and half miles away while the wife was talking to me and all of a sudden I can't hear her no more, now in in the car and there's all kinds of people around talking on the channel so when I get home and turn on the radio NOTHING it's like dead just a little white noise people are gone cant hear anything and transmit is only a few blocks seriously don't like this antenna not useable for 11 meter maybe some other band but not CB.. Don't waste your money get the better antenna get an Antron 99 or iMax 2000 it's worth it.Read full review
