When a job is too big for just one computer and keyboard, the IOGEAR GCS1104 switches give you the power to control up to four computers at one time. With a width of about 11 inches, this ATEN console can fit into almost any type of networking setup that you have at work or home. The front panel has four hourglass-shaped switches that allow you to move between computers with seamless ease. This computer switching device has a scanning time of between 1 and 99 seconds, but its default is normally at a 5-second maximum with your connected desktop.With these ATEN KVM switches, all it takes is one keyboard and a mouse along with a few USB cables to link your computers together. These accessories offer peripheral-sharing features with a 2-port USB 2.0 hub. When you turn this ATEN monitoring hardware around, you'll find five sections divided out with bold colors and labels to guide your way. Connect your console, such as the mouse and keyboard, into the appropriately marked ports on the rear of the IOGEAR KVM switch. Add up to four different computers on the remaining USB sections marked as CPU 1 through 4. You have the option of plugging in a microphone or speaker to each CPU designation, too.At the press of a button, you can easily swap back and forth between devices with the ATEN unit and your keyboard. The IOGEAR DVI KVM switches have a metal case so that they can withstand stacking and transport throughout their lifetimes. With a depth of about 3 to 4 inches, these keyboard video mouse solutions take up very little space in a server room or office setting. ATEN DVI KVM switches are designed to work in harsh conditions, tolerating storage temperatures from -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. This astounding specification makes the 2-inch tall ATEN switch a valuable tool for many computing needs.With IOGEAR's proprietary Display Emulation technology, you won't encounter lag or interference when switching between computers. In fact, you'll only see the clear resolution through the USB connections to the ATEN KVM IOGEAR because it boasts 1920 by 1200 pixels at 60Hz.You always know the status of every device linked to the unit because of the orange and green indicators.     Exactly as promised.

    They did it again. IOGEAR promised a good product and they delivered. There KVMs are the best on the market in my opinion. Worth every penny. I've always used them (and others) professionally, but now have one st home. Glad that I found a great deal on IOGEAR vs going with the others as I initially was going to.

    Kind of works...but not really.

    It *kind of* works, but not really. It doesn't actually support 1080p, at least not very effectively. It does, however, successfully switch from computer to computer at the press of a button, so like many other KVM boxes, it works well enough for a server room, but not for general consumer/home use.

    Best afforadable 4 port KVM

    Great affordable 4 port digital video KVM. Both USB ports (front and rear) are shared, so you can easily hook up a webcam and nice USB headset to share with all the connected machines. The ability to switch the display/keyboard/mouse, audio, and USB individually is icing on the cake (e.g. leave music playing on your desktop but use your docked work laptop). Also very solidly built.

    Great KVM for the money.

    This 4 port KVM is fantastic. It's fast in switching from one machine to the next. It makes an audible beep that isn't annoying, and has a number of preset (and programmable) hotkeys that can be used in lieu of touching the physical KVM. Also, you can keep the audio inputs on a particular computer while focusing the KVM on another. Overall, a great product.
