The Blues Brothers-Briefcase Full of Blues
This was the first of three albums that Belushi and Aycroid did in their guise of blues musicians, The Blues Brothers, which they did on Saturday Nite Live as well as the first movie of the same title. The group was made up of several professional, prominent blues musicians and this first album was in my opinion, their best. There are several tunes that were performed live on the show. My favorite track was 'Shotgun Blues', featuring Matt 'guitar' Murphy. For me, it epitomizes blues music at its best. 'Rubber Biscuit' was another favorite, the vocals ? beings done by Dan Aycroid, who plays the harmonica during most of the songs. This was a big sight gag during the group's entrance as Elwood (Dan) would walk out on stage with a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist. Jake (John) would ...
