Small, simple and practical
I have two of these. The older fits Sony proprietary hot shoes on my 3 Nex-7 bodies, and the newer fits the standard shoe atop my a6500. Both flash unit are otherwise identical. Both were purchased used on eBay. They are small and light, plenty powerful for my needs. Indeed for fill flash in wild flower closeups, I turn down flash compensation by 1 or 2 ev. Attachment to camera is secure. Simplicity of design, folding of unit when on camera but not in use, makes these easy to use and does not alter balance of camera. Decent height of erected unit helps prevent lens shadow in closeups, but sometimes I add a home made diffuser on end of lens barrel. Easy to switch from tele to wide and from direct to bounce. As for speed of recycling, it is not fast enough for a series of rapid ... I have two of these.
