This car was a limited run made for members of the Lionel Collector's Club of America. Every year the LCCA has an annual convention in a different city. And every year they arrange for Lionel Trains to make a convention car for the members. These cars are only sold to members. And each year's car has something to do with the host city. The 1988 convention was held in Lexington KY. That year's car was an Ashland Oil tank car. Ashland Oil is a Kentucky based oil company. The car has excellent paint and graphics as befits a custom run. The car is an excellent addition to a Lionel train collection and will probably be the only Ashland Oil car Lionel will ever make.This car was a limited run made for members of the Lionel Collector's Club of America.
