If you fix one thing with the Ancel VD700 it pays for itself.
I bought this to clear the airbag code on my '05 Beetle. it did that and identified where the problem was that was setting the code (the driver's side seat belt switch). Very easy to use for basic things like resetting codes. I also like that the unit plugs in directly to the obd port and i don't have to attempt to get Bluetooth pairing like some other obd readers. I give it 4 stars because the software update process wasn't easy - I had to manually install the drivers on my Win7 laptop, the Ancel dialog kept telling me the drivers were installed successfully but they weren't so it took me awhile to find the problem. Also, there is little to no documentation for how to use the Ancel code reader to do more complicated stuff like steering angle sensor calibration. I'm sure the Ancel ... I own a 2003 Audi. I was really disappointed to see in the owner's manual that there is a setting for VW but not Audi. It kicks out error codes every time i try to use it. I have told it to clear codes and it won't. I plan to return this unit and get something different.

Needs better software
The software is not intuitive and it has limited ability, the software is hard to get around to what you want. It is very limited in what you can do compared to a V5 BT or even my 20 something year old Auto Xray unit. Its main good thing is direct connect instead of Bluetooth.
