Product Information

Made to appeal to a wider audience than just the hardcore racing sim fan, this sequel to 2005's indie hit features three difficulty settings and a "Driving School" mode with 45 lessons on braking, acceleration, overtaking, and cornering. After players finish school, they can choose drivers, teams, and circuits licensed from the 2003 and 2004 <i>Fédération International de l'Automobile</i> GT Championship seasons, for a total of 34 tracks and 140 vehicle types. Besides "Driving School," GTR 2 includes modes such as "Open Practice," "Race Weekend," "Championships," "Time Trials," and "24 Hour Races." The game's multiplayer modes make room for 32 opponents from around the world, or just a friendly race between friends.

    It's a Simulation, not a Game

    This is one of the best Simulations out there and it was probably The Best One back in 2005, without a doubt. Just remember that it is a simulator. If you want a fun arcade style game, then look elsewhere. If you want an increasingly hard simulator, then this works. You will need a racing wheel, pedals and shifter to work this game properly. A game pad or joystick does not work well and you loose all the realism. If you're not into die hard simulations and don't want to spend months or years racing on the PC, then pass this one up. I know, since I am selling mine now. I don't have the mega bucks for simulator equipment, so it's back to stupid arcade games.

    Amazing Simulator, also great for casuals.

    Probably the greatest Racing Sim ever released. Wide modding support included. I highly recommend the Anniversary HQ Patch.

    A great racing simulator!

    First off, this is a racing simulator not a game. If you want a video game action, there are probably better choices out there. But, if you want to experience racing, then this is one of the best if not THE best racing sim out there. You get a bunch of tracks and cars to start out with that you can expand with the hundreds if not thousands of new ones on the internet. The game comes with an amazing collection of racing lessons that teach you the basics of operating a race car up to circuit training on the default tracks. I bought this game as a tool to learn how to drive a stick and found myself a racing fan after seeing what drivers are doing from the cockpit. The lessons will teach you all the fundamentals for typical track turns and obstacles. On race day, you get all of the race ...

    Excellent game for the racing sim fan.

    This game provides a great multiplayer following, practice runs, and modification ability. If you are into racing, buy this game.
