If you don't enjoy this gem there's something awfully wrong with you. This co-op multiplayer game is one of the best multiplayer experiences you can have at this time. Now they went ahead to triple their potential consumers from the in-game store and made it completely free. That's right, the only argument someone could use against this game would be hating fun, especially that kind of fast-paced fun that's also free of charge, You have to be a cretin. 9 classes to choose from, each has its own set of abilities, each excels at determined situations, working together to reach an objective. Most co-op games aren't too good because humans can not cooperate with other human beings—myself included—but this works. It's not 100% but there are interesting communities out there that enjoy playing a good balanced game. While others are server equivalents of wet, putrid-smelling feces. Choose well.Read full review
I bought TF2 last month, and was easily hooked in because of the roles each class takes, and because of its low/moderate learning curve. Occasionally, on startup, this game glitches up, slows my keyboard down, and keeps flashing the monitor with different screens. All you have to do when this occurs is to restart TF2, or if that doesn't fix it, just restart. Other than this minor issue, this game will be the most addicting game you have ever played for years to come.
Team Fortress 2 is a great online multiplayer game. The graphics are fun and scalable to a range of systems. The specialist, team based approach to the first person shooter can accomodate many playing styles from the casual gamer (try the soldier or demo man) to the twitchiest hard core FPS specialist (the Scout is your guy) and everyone in between. the controls are simple to learn and the game engaging from the first minute. The achievment system gives the player a constantly moving goal to improve their play and the class system adds tremendous strategic depth to the various games. I highly recommend TF2 to anyone interested in online gaming. For even greater value look for the Orange Box collection which also includes the brilliant puzzle game Portal.
For anyone that plays FPS (First Person Shooters) on pc, this game's controls will be very easy to get used to. The classes are pretty well balanced; no one class is better then the others. Team work plays a big role in victory. The HUD (Heads-Up Display) is easy to understand, and the maps and game types are very creative and enjoyable. From arena's with no respawn, to capture the flag, and even king of the hill. The only downside, is how addicting this game can be.
There are so many things I like about this game. For starts it's graphics are cartoony but very high quality and well done unlike battlefield heros. Also it integrates with Steam well storing stats, hold settings in steam cloud. Just released Mac version which allows you to play on OS X for FREE if you have the PC version, a huge +++. You are allowed mods, over 300 achievements, updates often(meaningful updates). and much much more. It's 50% off at the time of this review I recommend getting that, when that offer is over, still purchase it can be bought for $15 al over the place or less. Cheers
