Rigged it to fit on my 1987 Panasonic PV-320 VHS camcorder and I was able to get footage of the eclipse with ease.

  • Used for sun set and eclips

Used it for sun set - rise, great, whish it was darker. My lens is not very good so I cannot focus on infinity with or with out the filter. Almost can make out some sun spots. Solar eclipse looked great. Very easy to change density. I had some reflection but I think it was the UV IR filter I had under the ND filter.

  • HAVE RESERVATIONS ON VARIABLE RANGE

Nice ND filter but have reservations on the variable range. Inaccurate markings for ranges on side of filter. Actually not much range until you hit the max setting before you see results. I can make the filter work but touchy. Better off buying a filter with desired density instead for a serious photo hobby person.

Perfect for capturing that high iso, slow shutter speed dreamlike motion especially on water. Don't forget to use a tripod.

  • Not quite

Not quite the ND1000 it claims. More like ND400. Spotty, strips and not consistent. Fun to play with but not professional quality.
