Instructions a little confusing, but can be easily figured out. No mention of battery type or how many needed to operate this detector. Instructions mention replacing the tip when needed - no mention of part number or when to get one....Otherwise, good results when tested the first try. A dependable tool I'll always use.

didn't help me find my leak
i could not detect the leak even though i had a fast leak. What i mean by that is not that the detector wouldn't make it's alarm, but that i couldn't determine where the leak was coming from b/c of the randomness and unreliability of the alarm. i tried different sensitivity settings to no avail. it could be me somehow, but i couldn't get it to work and all my refrigerant ran out in an hour, so i would have thought determining where the leak was coming from would have been easy.i could not detect the leak even though i had a fast leak. Alarm when place by ANYTHING, WHY ?
(07-2019) Installed four new AAA batteries & I thought I was ready to test. At first I though it was me BUT when I started placing it by ANYTHING it would start buzzing. I can place it by my kitchen sink, T.V., walls, P.C. IT STARTS BUZZING. I MAY have A bad one(UNKNOWN). I like the size. MY LOSS of money ! (07-14-2019) STILL unable to make work any difference.
