    Still Worthwhile

    Combo DVD and VCR; note that having the original remote would make it easier to use the product.but a universal remote will do the job. An inexpensive upconverter upgrades the VCR signal to720 P. and allows a consolidated HDMI output for both the VCR and the DVD signals

    Other then trying to figure out how to get the vcr to play it is nice

    I brought this dvd/vcr player cause it had HDMI, thinking all i had to do was just plug the HDMI cable in the player and my tv and it would be ready to play the dvd's and vcr's i was wrong as the HDMI cable only works with the dvd's, had to call Samsung to find out how to get the vcr to play and the told me i needed to hook up a video cable to the red white and yellow connections and then hook them to my tv, so now if i play dvd's i use the HDMI cable and play vcr's with the video cables. Seems like Samsung would of made it all work throught the HDMI cable.

    Samsung V9650

    I have purchased Samsung in the past so was not concerned about buying this unit used on ebay. It has more features than I have been able to use. Notable is the VCR. The auto-tracking can clean up even worn out tapes. Most of the features are only accessible with the remote so take care of it. Buttons on the front of the unit itself only do the basic play related functions.

    Beware buying DVD/VHS combo players "outdated and previously used".

    I bought this Samsung DVD/VHS combo-V9650 player because it's the EXACT MODEL I owned. The DVD player part of my machine had stopped working. IT CLEARLY STATED THIS PLAYER WAS "TESTED AND WORKING"! While the player arrived in "perfect" condition, IT WILL NOT PLAY ANY DVDs! I've tried many DVDs and they will NOT play! This has been a waste of my money. What a disappointment.

    Samsung Dvd Combo Model V9650

    I was particularly looking for a Samsung Dvd Combo to replace a former model V5650 (which would not play dvrs. I did a lot of searching for a unit with a tv tuner. I was told by a retailer they are not making them with tuners anymore. They told me all I would need in addition to a tunerless dvd player was to purchase a converter box I wanted to upgrade the unit with as little trouble as possible. My tv is connected to satellite and a sound system and the prior model connected to tv with tuner. I received this new one today, have already installed it. I connected it by matching cord for cord in less than 10 minutes I did not have to worry about satellite codes since it was the same brand. I really did not have to do any set up.
