    Intense reading!

    This book is in a series that I read and I am collecting the series. Laurell K. Hamilton is one of my favorite writers. These books are the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter Novels and I would recommend these to any one who likes vampire and shapeshifter books. These are adult books.

    Anita Blake Vampire Executioner

    This book was a bit of a let down after reading all of the others. Although I enjoyed it, I felt Ms. Hamilton strayed a bit while writing this one. There was just too much sex to fit the story line in this one. Anita is supposed to fight evil and the monsters she faces are supposed to be the attraction of the plot. Not so much in this book. More and more it had to do with Ms. Blake's sexual side effects of being involved with a werewolf and vampire. I could have done without that particular exploration. Perhaps all will be explained in future episodes. I certainly hope so. Because if not, then I'm not too sure what the point of this episode is.

    Another Excellent Adventure In Anitaland

    Anita winds up in the wilds of Tennesse to rescue the love of her life, Richard. Vampire politics abounds. She gets a little help from her friends; her wereleopards, Edward, the totally hot assasin, and ubersexy Jean Claude, her vampire lover. Throw in a little action a la "Deliverence"...you know how it is in the backwoods. As much as I love Richard, he can be a little stupid. Anita is magnificent as always. She has kind of gone astray from the path of sexual morality but if I had her man-menu I'd be filling up my plate too! As always...a big thumbs up for Laurell Hamilton, long may she keep us in Anitaland.

    this is book 8 in the series and it's an out of town book. and while i will recommend skipping obsidian unless of course you like edward. this one is important. richard is being framed. he stumbled on to something he wasn't supposed to find. so anita has to come to his rescue in one of the small towns....... you also get to see some of richard's family in action. important relationships here are nathaniel, damien and asher, and some of the ritual stuff that anita does with cherry, and the rest. and she learns not be so literal, as in head in basket. but the most important thing beside the damien thing, is richard, and richard's conversation with jean claude and richard and anita FINALLY....

    Action packed!

    If you want and action packed supernatural thrill ride with a cool heroine- this is the book for you! Anita Blake is a hardcore, no-nonsense kind of girl with all kinds of complications in her personal life. This book is part "who done it," part werewolf- vamp novel, part romance thriller. I have nearly all of the Anita Blake series- don't miss this book!
