I purchased "Magic" as soon as I realized that it had been released in a DVD format. My E-bay connections quickly alerted me to the fact that some of my best sellers had copies of it to sell -- and they were "brand new." The movie itself is a psychological thriller -- made all the more stunning and phenomenal because its original release dates back close to 30 years ago! Yes, we are very accustomed to what cinema presents to us presently, especially in the psychological horror genre and it is indeed a remarkable feat. However, when you are able to view an older movie and still experience the same feelings of excitement, terror, etc. you get with our modern versions (and, perhaps, even MORE so), you know you have a movie that always was (and very much still is) in its ... I purchased "Magic" as soon as I realized that it had been released in a DVD format. A young Anthony Hopkins is a delight to watch -- bringing both a naive, yet quite sinister, character to life. Ventriloquism was never quite the same for me after watching "Magic." And when a movie leaves you with that kind of lingering emotion, you just know that you've seen a winner -- one which will endure the test of time. "Magic" does that.

This movie was very good. It keeps your attention throughout and shows you slowly his descent into madness. Worth every penny!

Interesting psychological film.
This is an interesting film that includes three very talented actors, Hopkins, Ann Margret, and BUrgess Meredith. I had seen this years ago but became interested in getting a copy for our library. I don't think it is that "terrifying" as the box says but it does have some scary parts. Hopkins is excellent as he shows the psychology of his character.
