Mastodon - Remission (CD+DVD)
Well..., I'll try to be objective with this review, as I consider myself a fan of the band. This album is the first LP of the band. After a year of it release, it was re-released as a Limited Edition CD+DVD, with a bonus track, and a full concert (playing the complete album). As the first album of every band of the genre, the sound is raw and in your face, but it also have that mid-tempo songs, with harsh vocals (if you're into sludge metal you'll know what I'm talking about). This album is quite different from the rest of the band's discography, as they developed into a more prog-metal sound, however, this album is part of their roots and the vision they had back in the day, their way to honor the band's influences such as Neurosis and High On ...
