    Piece of #$!!!%*# junk!

    This product is supposed to be rated at 1000 watts. It does not heat that well. The actual rating is more like 500 to 750 watts. It is a well designed, slick-looking unit with clean lines. It just does not heat as it should. I wished I had purchased a unit rated at 1500 watts, or one that at least heats to the level to which it is rated. Save your money and future headaches and by a reputable product; one that is not CHINESE-MADE JUNK if that is still possible! If you need a heating element to warm hot chocolate, coffee, tea, or soup, this will work. If you are planning on cooking with this unit, D O N O T B U Y T H I S (POS) U N I T ! ! ! ! ! ! !

    I bought 2 of these burners specifically...

    I bought 2 of these burners specifically to use for hot pot but was disappointed that the heat does not consistently stay on and turns off every few minutes. This would make cooking hard let alone trying to keep something at a constant temperature nearly impossible. We ended up having to boil our broth first on the stove and then add it to the pot on the burners

    Very light weight and easy to clean.

    Overall I like this hot plate. It takes a little longer to heat up than I thought it would, but once the burner is heated up it stays heated for a good amount of time after I turn off the unit.
