This spotting scope is stinking awesome!~
I am very happy I purchased the Pentax PF-80ED-A 80mm ED Glass Angled Spotting Scope. I climbed the Robinson Preserve Tower located in Bradenton Florida. From the tower I looked northeast and I was very easily able to see the occupants in cars on the SkyWay Bridge from St Pete to Bradenton, 7 miles away! For real. I bought this scope because at the rifle range the spotting scopes they provide are only good up to 150 yards, and I hit targets 300 yards and beyond. I am able to see my 5.56 round impacts on the paper target 300 yards away. This scope is durable and top lawyer is some kinda awesome material that makes it sturdy. I would have no problem taking this into the woods or use during rainy conditions. It also comes with a cordura nylon soft case with handles and hooks for a sling. ... Top quality optics for a great price! Obvious quality throughout. Don't hesitate to buy one of these scopes. I have used spotting scopes in my profession for nearly 30 years and have used all of the high priced European optics. This scope is on par with any of them at a price us "normal" folks can budget for. The first day out I looked at two whitetail does bedded down 300 yards away. The detail and clarity from 20 to 60 power was remarkable! I was literally able to see their eyelashes. I'm just sorry I didn't buy one of these scopes years ago!Top quality optics for a great price! Pentax Spotting Scope PF-80ED w/20-60 zoom Eyepiece
After perusing every review I could find, I felt this scope fit my needs for a "first scope" nicely. I looked at Swarovski first and actually bought one in a nearby state...when I got to the checkout, the lady said that will be $xxx I said what? then she stated the price PLUS TAX! A tax of $150 just about blew me away and I had her void the sale immediately! I live in a "no sales tax state" so paying that was out of the question. Anyway, I was kind of relieved that I didn't spend over $3k and went about looking online again. The Pentax kept surfacing as a great buy on comparable optics as the big euro scopes. I found one on ebay and made an offer hundreds less that his buy it now price. He accepted and now I own this beautiful optic. It is everything the reviews said it was! I am adding a ... In no way is this review technical at all...just a happy owner's thoughts...and I expect the new wide angle eyepiece to enhance this scope even more (even though the zoom eyepiece performs beautifully.

It is a fine spotting scope. The zoom eye-piece is easy handle. It is a great item even the part of the body was oxidised.
